Full house at the 4th German-Hungarian Business Day in Budapest

There was great interest in the 4th Business Day – organized by DialogUngarn - Deutsch-Ungarisches Wirtschaftsnetzwerk Nonprofit Kft. and the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency - HIPA – under the motto

How German Hungarian Business Creates Value

In his welcoming address István Joó, CEO of the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency - HIPA emphasized the importance of German investors in Hungary.

With 2,350 companies with German participation, employing 230,000 people, they are the largest investor group in Hungary.

A good example of the German presence is Bosch Magyarország: Dr. István Szászi, Representative of the Bosch Group in Hungary and the Adriatic Region, presented in his keynote speech what innovative manufacturing means and the importance of ecosystems made up of various stakeholders. Collaboration with SMEs and universities is particularly important.

Panel 1, entitled

The Power of SME-Corporate Collaboration in Manufacturing

was a fitting theme, where Dr. Arne Gobert spoke with Vidor Kis-Márton, Dr. Horvath Andrea, Markus M. Hoffmann and Gergő Elek.

A particular highlight was the presentation of the national AI strategy by Prof. Dr. László Palkovics, Government Commissioner for Artificial Intelligence.

This provided a perfect transition to Panel 2, which focused on

Creating Value in Advanced Services

A fascinating discussion focused on the business service center sector and its growing importance in Hungary, as well as on added value services, but also on how to attract and retain employees here.

Dr. Marie-Theres Thiell was in dialogue with Dr. Judit Varga, Péter Csucska, Fadi Shadeh and Barbara Eötvös.

Throughout the event, as well as before and after, there was plenty of time for networking and good conversations, which was fully utilized.

“It's great to see how this annual business day has developed into a networking platform for the German-Hungarian business community in Hungary, for companies of all sizes” underlined the organizers.

Also this year a delegation from Internationaler Wirtschaftsrat e. V. participated in Budapest, what was great.

We would like to thank all those actively involved for their contributions and the HIPA team for the excellent cooperation.

Please save the date for next year 23 April 2026
